Hey everyone, I think my plates are sticking together. My bike sits alot. I read that Yamalub 10w40 ATV oil is good for that. There is also quicksilver full synthetic both on Amazon the full synthetic is only a couple bucks more. What do you guys think. Thanks!

I built this 1981 xs650 cafe racer, it's a blast to ride, especially on winding roads.

Sounds good, I am afraid of clogging up that Tiny little hole, from sanding the bore. Maybe it would be safer to just use brake cleaner and paper towel?

What should I clean the bore out with?

Great thanks, do you recommed a good supplier to get the rear MC rebuild kit from, since Mikexs new one I bought could have possibly been defective, I am leery.

I got the original rear master cylinder apart, does anyone have a picture of the sequence the parts go in, I noticed the pictures I have found online show the rubber piece at the top of the spring, but when I took mine apart the rubber part was at the bottom where the plunger touches the spring...

I got everything back on nice and tight, back blead the system, still no go! I think I'm going to have to rebuild the original MS, and see what happens. I'm surprised there isn't a " how to" in the tech section for rear master cylinder rebuild.

Hey, would a torn outer boot cause the MS to fail?

By the way, is it hard to rebuild these things? Any special tools required? Does the rubber outside boot come with the rebuild kit, mine is torn?
