What do you do for a living ???

Oilfield. Well, natural gas. I'm a 3rd class power engineer and I operate natural gas compressors in remote environments. My current position puts me in northeast British Columbia, about 150 miles from anywhere. I work shift work, 2 weeks at work then 2 weeks at home. It's not a job as much as a...

    Yup, another Noob

Yup, front and rear drum. A bit of a downgrade in brakes but the drum brakes stopped the older bikes OK and I don't think the laws of physics have changed all that much. :D Besides, I love the way they look.

Yeah, I dig the over-ride springs too. They are just unusual enough to be cool. I kicked around the gaitor idea but when I saw it like this the decision was obvious to me. No gaitors. I found some filters that fit and should work OK, K&N BD-3303. My local ATV/bike dealer stocks them all...

    Yup, another Noob

Hi all. About 2 weeks ago I picked up my first bike in 8 years, a 79 XS 650. It runs beautifully, is in great shape, it has 31 thousand miles on it and I picked it up for a grand. Common sense told me to just ride the Hell out of it but sense is not that common around my place. Rode it about 2...

    Pod filter part numbers?

Thank you! I will make the call tomorrow. Also, I guess it was kind of rude for me to just dive in like I did, no intro, no nothing.... I will post some pics as soon as I figure it out.

    Pod filter part numbers?

First off, a very imformative site! Congrats yall, well done.... Now, I'm putting together a bike, started off with a '79 XS and I'm down to the short strokes. I called around looking for pod filters for this little beast and the quickest I can get the filters is 6 weeks! I am looking at K&N...
