    Sticky VM34s?

No he thinks your cable routing is affecting your slides, nothing to do with vaccuum. Throttle should pull easy and snap back (more importantly). Test with the motor off, and turn the bars from lock to lock slowly. Cheers

    Nor Easters

Good luck to you all, thinking of you down under! fill your baths, sinks, buckets, jugs etc etc with water. Recall the rhyme of the ancient mariner; water water everywhere and not a drop to drink! Posted via Mobile

    CDI Ignition

Just like all old shit, fewer and fewer. Still they sold a lot of these back in the day, any bike mechanic over 50 will remember them well. Steve Riley (used to be the Midland Yamaha dealer) at midland huskvarna, i cant recall the name of the shop. He knows them well and also owns one. He may be...

    CDI Ignition

Yeah, just get the pamco. You already have the advance mech. When you do it, keep your old points and coils safely tucked away. If you ever fry the pamco, at least you can get it up and running again while you wait. cheers Posted via Mobile

    f**king sneak thieves

I had a rusty old motor and damned if i could get any single one of the bolts undone. So i posted it to my self and marked it CLASS 1 DRUGS. Low and behold when the motor finally made it home, every bolt was loose. Very helpful our local police! Posted via Mobile

New Mikunis. Dodgy idle, no power.

check float level and needle seat. double check the new manifolds for leaks. check valve adjustment/cam chain. if it runs on choke, and not without, then that suggests a lean condition. either not enough fuel (blockage somewhere or wrong jets) or too much air (manifold leak or valves not...

New Mikunis. Dodgy idle, no power.

Leo, us convicts wern't considered "advanced" enough for the TCI (ha ha). So I suppose he is running points. I'd remove the fuel tap and clean that up 1st Posted via Mobile

New Mikunis. Dodgy idle, no power.

1st thing to check is flow out of the tank. then check float height. best guess would be crap in your tank, in tank filters, fuel tap or fuel line. a good, well charged battery is needed for these bikes to run! Posted via Mobile

Help! No neutral light/no headlight, no start

doesnt the TCI need to know the bike is in neutral to fire? check the plug on top of the gearbox, behind the jugs, fix that, check your brushes and you might be back in business. cheers Posted via Mobile

If a guy wanted to drop the torque peak from 6k to 5k...

I thought you could use the 256 cam in a 447, just need to change the sprocket on the cam and the adjuster? 750 kit will help too. Posted via Mobile

If a guy wanted to drop the torque peak from 6k to 5k...

you need to read xsjohns posts, both here and on the old 650rider site. There is a few gathered together here in the tech section. Lowering compression would be a good start, along with the BS34 carbs tuned right. Standard cam and dont worry about the re-phase. goodluck Posted via Mobile
