Hi everyone,

What gears can I remove to make my bike kick only. I have the cases split and want to remove everything that I don't need.

Can I remove the starter bendix gear?

What will prevent me from starting the motor at all if I remove it?

Try doing a search or going to the tech section. This has been covered many times.

I did do a search and look around. No one has any simple pictures or diagrams that say "remove all this stuff". There are a lot of threads on the subject but none really on what you can remove if you split the cases. Someone please point me in the right direction. I have been through this forum for hours upon hours without success.

Hi there.

Take a look at these pics. Maybe you´ll get the answer you´re lookin for.

Just use a "block-of kit". Should be avaliable at MikeXS. Or do one youshelf. It´s really simple.

I have removed the starter and the accompanying gear that you have pictures of.

I want to know if I can remove the connecting gear from the starter to the transmission shown just behind the red arrow. There are two gears connected to either end of a rod running through the cases. I want to get rid of it but don't want to remove gears that are vital to the operation of the motorcycle.

Also, can I remove the starter bendix gear shown below with the arrow pointing to it?

It looks like the starter bendix gear only connects the starter gear to the crankshaft directly. The kickstart goes directly to the transmission. Can I get rid of the bendix gear too??

Yes, with the cases split, you can remove the shaft through them and it's 2 gears (10-14). Without splitting the cases, you're limited to removing 1-9 and 15-22.

Sorry for my stupidity.
So you don't have to use any of that running gear from the old starter motor (that is displayed in the starer gears diagram) in the if its kick only ?
thank you
