Digger XS Mock Up

If I remember correctly you shaved some meat off those rims right? How many lbs you 'spose? Stance looks awesome. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Also, does tilting the engine forward like that have any ill effects?

Is angling the engine just to be different?

As asked above any repercussions?
Does it need to be a rephased engine, cos I can't imagine you putting a stock one in.

The angle of the engine allows for a few aesthetic changes I wanted to make. Namely the slanted backbone behind the cases.

Realistically, the engine is going to run just fine angled the way it is with a few oiling modifications.. I've machined in oil passages to the transmission to keep it happy just like the early XS1 engines were done.

And yes, its NEEDS to be rephased. I rode my last custom XS650 (The Survivor Build) without a rephased engine over 1200 miles in a weekend, and I'll never do it again  Wore me slap out, vibes sucked, and it just didn't work for me  Maybe in a stock chassis with a thick lazy boy seat, but not in a custom :bike:

Oiling modifications? All of the years have the transmission oiled under pressure from the oil pump.

excuse my ingnance.... whats a digger? lowered? specific rake? look? what?

70's Pro-Street Inspired street bikes... Basically, long, low, stretched, raked. Some folks went as far as molding the frames and adding lots of weight for the look, but I keep my bikes light

Been working on the Girder, slowly - stay tuned for updates

On the ground, sitting on it's own weight  Finally got the girder about 90% done. I need to make bar mounts, and machine some steering stops...
