I've waited 4 weeks for an ignition kit to come in stock(they are out of the advance rods and I need everything as I have an 82) at mikesxs.com (mikesxs said it would be 4 weeks until they would be in stock), they are now saying another 4 weeks in an e-mail I just recently received. It wouldn't be a big deal if I had even the slightest faith they would actually be in stock in a few more weeks but I am getting the feeling that is not the case by my correspondence with them.

Anyone know any other place that sells the ignition components? I asked PamcoPete and he said he did not know of anyone else and I've been asking in classifieds for a while.

I hope I'm not stuck waiting an eternity just to get this thing going or I'm just going to go to a normal TCI ignition.

I'm having the same problem, seems like every time they are missing one part from the kit. I need a rephase kit and have been sending them e-mail for the last 3 months and get the response that it will be in next week. Last week they told me they were in the process of putting the kits together as they were writing it and to check on the site tomorrow. Checked for 3 days with nothing and asked again and they said mid December because they are out of the advance rods. I also tried e-mailing Pamco to see if they at least had the ignition parts in stock, but the e-mails keep getting kicked back. Are they still in business?

Gemiller, the only reproduction ATU out there is from Mike's XS. Even if you found a NOS original you wouldn't like the price; they were north of $300 before Yamaha stopped producing them. Used units usually need to have the advance curve adjusted. There's plenty on that here. Tip: never try to adjust the curve by bending or peening the tabs that limit bob weight motion.

I have a complete ATU assembly with advance rod and cam, also points, points plates, coils, and condenser, if you're going that route. I can mod the bob weight tips to fill the slots and get the curve very close, but you'd need to do the final inspection and you'd also need to check tension on the bob weight springs and mod them if needed (if I mounted the stuff to dial in, you wouldn't like the price). You'd also need to buy labyrinth seals and bushings for the camshaft elsewhere; I don't have them.

Send me a PM if you're interested.

Try http://www.xs650direct.com/ in Canada.

gregoryp...I have been getting other reports of problems reaching me by Email, sorry if I missed your call, but I am still in business. MikesXS is out of the advance rods primarily due to the high volume of PAMCO's being sold for TCI bikes.

Pete, just sent you a PM before I read this post, so disregard. Will the Canadian site ship to the us? I looked at their site and it says they don't. If I order from your site do you have the 277 rephase systems in stock?
Greg
