2013 Dodge Dart

Some of these remakes of some of the muscle cars are a joke. A four door charger? Really? That thing don't look like a dart. I used to ride around with a guy in high school who had a 426 Hemi Cuda. I bet he wishes he had kept hold of that car. I guess the new Mustang is the best of the bunch.
jefft

Looks the same as every other car designed by a wind tunnel.

Yea I'm pretty much uninspired by the crop of ugly new motorcycles available today too. My two faviorite bikes of all time based on looks alone would have to be a late fifty's Panhead and the late 60's Triumph Bonneville.

Meh. Another genericmobile.

I used to be a middlin-dedicated Dodge guy, owned 2 of their cars (K-car and Intrepid) and three of their trucks ('74 D100, '88 and '01 Dakotas) but between their finances, the revolving-door ownership and the demise of QC, I wouldn't buy a new one with YOUR money.

As a plain old car, I kinda like it. But when they add that Dart name it......naaa.
I'm an everything guy. I like models from all manufacturers. I have owned many different brands and have many different problems with each one. I've never owned a Mopar product. My mom loves 'em, owned since the '60's, but everyone she has had, had major failure, a lot with low miles. And not from operator error or lack of maintenance.
My very good friend works as a Dodge mechanic. He laughs and tells me, out of the 10 or so mechanics there, he's the only one that drives a Dodge.
But, as you can see, even new cars are built around other car chassis. The new Dart is on a Fiat chassis with Fiat engine. SAAB just went belly up and they are all GM.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I wouldn't buy a GM either though I believe we all hold stock in their companies..too big to fail ya know. Now where's my '57 Silver Hawk?

I watched a thing about the Chevy Volt. Rick Wagoner was talking about where the parts were made. The entire vehicle is made by other countries, only assembled in the US. The electric motors are made in Mexico, which kinda scared me. Gas engine from Austria and the batteries from Korea. I think the trans is made in Italy.

Neon SRT 4 ring a bell anyone? Cause that's what it looks like to me. I was psyched to hear about a new Dart, was not so psyched once I saw it. As a current Dodge owner (07' Caliber) I would'nt buy another Dodge product (to quote Downeaster) with YOUR money.

Most new motorcycles are pretty aweful looking too. I was in a local dealer recently and I was digusted with the styling of all of the new sportbikes. The only one that actally looked cool is Kawasaki's Ninja 250. All the restof the big bikes, Honda, Kawi, Yamaha, Suzuki, all have these big wide low exhausts that look cheesy as hell, like the were made by the so called "Stunters." Corny, ugly, and impracticle looking.

My buddy, who owns a new Royal Enfield, let me take it for a nice, long ride. I didn't go that far, lol. It just felt a little flimsy. Felt Like I was sitting real high up and everything was loose. Brakes were terrible too. He loves id. It just didn't feel solid for some reason.

My mom has a Dodge Caliber now. Ball joints went up at 20K miles and the radio, or something, fried 'cuz it grounds thru the suspension. Not sure what she was talking about.
Of course my Ford, at 75K miles, is totally shitted up. Yes, that is a word, shitted up.

The majority of my trucks, both used and new, have been either GMC's or Chevies.

Won't be another one of them in my drive either.

At my age, it's quite likely I'll never need another full size pickup, but if I do, it'll probably be a Ford. That'd be a first too, never owned a Ford. No particular reason other than that the local dealer is out of his tiny little mind on his pricing and wouldn't budge the 2 or 3 times I shopped his lot.

My first car was a 74 dart swinger with the 318 later put in a 360 man that thing would fly!! Lol. Sure wish I still had that car.
