Cafe build update

XS771, Headers are MikesXS stainless 1 1/2", mufflers are EMGO reverse cone sourced locally, the bend in the middle was made up locally to my cardboard template. Rotors are XS Performance high performance discs, again from MikesXS. These discs are thinner than the standard, as such you "may" need to rebuild your calipers, I ended up buying new calipers ($ and time logic) as I was continually leaking fluid past the pistons with these thinner discs

Jefft, the fibreglass seat came of the ebay.com.au advertised as a bsa goldstar repo, a seller by the name of "bron-moto" ( http://stores.ebay.com.au/bron-moto?_rdc=1), it had to be lengthened to suit the XS. The seat pad was made by yours truly by laying fiberglass over cardboard then stitching using jet ski seat material. I made the tail/tag bracket from aluminium.
cheers

Rude...Very nice cafe bike! Does MikesXS carry 1.5" stainless mufflers now....I though they only had 1.75"?

BTW, if you spray the inside of the headers with high temp paint, it keeps it from discoloring.

My mistake they are the 1 3/4" stainless headers and not 1 1/2", I also included the torque inserts. I don't mind the gold showing through on the headers, sorta looks "well used"
cheers

Rude, just wanted to compliment you on a beautiful bike.

I too am working on a cafe. I also wanted a Tracker, so decided to make both. I have included a few pictures, along with what the 1978 standard looked like when I purchased.

It has taken a long time to get to where I am and will probably be a while more. I planned to take my time when I started. The body work is almost ready to paint. The tracker is to be a Kenny Roberts scheme. I have had a difficult time finding someone to paint it the way I want with the pearl paints I want to use. Other than that, I just need to do the wiring.

Thanks also for the lead on the chain guard. I wanted to run one but the stock one wouldn't work with the Red Wing shocks without much modification. The Motolana, or my version of it, I am sure is much lighter than the stock bricke.

In case Racerdave is checking in, is that PMC in your Avatar? I am about 45 minutes from there in the twin cities.

I absolutely love your bike. The cleanliness and simplicity of this is exactly what I'm striving for. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
