Funny you say that, I kept the other end of the skate as its a perfect size for a solo. Just need to shape the front but the curve in the back hugs my ass just so damn well!

I'm actually about to head on out to do experiment with a friends skateboard deck. Will let you guys know how that goes!
Update: so the skateboard deck that I borrowed wouldn't have worked. The concave of the tail isn't big enough to fit the frame. I could still use a skateboard deck, but it'd end up being too short and there'd be a gap between the seat and the end of the frame.
Did you shave off the tab that held the stock seat up? How'd you get the deck to be somewhat flush with the frame?

Will post pics later. Seems to me, the trickiest part will be in the front where the tank mounts. How did you get the seat cover to stretch good? I'm guessing its not attached to the skateboard in the front to give way for the bolt through the tank?
This is my ongoing project. Other coming changes are, new rearlight(small called "texas"), new shorter rear fender, new footpegs and some upgrading on the front brake.

You got it. In the front, The tank slides over the board, and the board is notched so they both pop down and over the bolt for the tank. I mount the tank and seat simultaneously.
In the back, its just a small, flat piece of steel, wrapped around the frame, with a solid grade 8 bolt going through.
To get it to stretch, use a heat gun and gently warm the leather, and just take your time. Pull, staple. Pull, staple.
HiPurple, I dont think mounting pictures will help much. You cant really see it. Best just an explanation. Good luck! Any more questions, just ask.

Used this idea for mine!! I bought a DIY skateboard from a skate shop so I could form it to the 9" seat frame. ($45) Secured it the same way under the tank bolt and then welded a piece of right angle steel to the crossbar under the center of the seat frame. Now all I have to do is wrap it in foam and microsuede. Will post pics soon. Awesome idea Tron

I abandonded the skateboard idea, after a few tries. It was a bit to narrow(?) towards the back end and not completely flat against the frame. Made a base out of a piece of steel instead. It's now waiting to get the cover finished. Will post pics of that later if anyone's interested

You can bend plywood by slotting across where you want to put the bends.
Cut a piece of plywood to the length and width you want, then start slotting across it where you want it to bend. It will take several slots.
Soak the plywood in HOT water to make the bending easier.
Bend it to the shape you want then clamp it to the frame and give it a few days to dry.
Seal it with epoxy after it dries. Give it a final trimming if needed and seal it with epoxy again.
Many woods-- not just plywood-- can be bent in this manner.
You'll probably have to experiment to get the look you want.

Don't know what it's called in english but it's a contact glue that you put on both surfaces and wait for it to dry - then press together. The foam was attached that way and it sits really good.
Should be done after the weekend, will post new pic.
