any weld on hardtails for 72

i have an xs2 basketcase i picked up awhile back and im at the point of being ready to order my hardtail.... after browsing around i have noticed only 2 shops i have found that acutally have weld ons for the 72 xs650... Elswick (which i hear is terrible and do not want to take chances with them) and tc bro but there's say all year xs650... Any other companies that anyone knows of that offer them for a 72... i really like that david bird hardtail but it says only for 74 and up.... idk how different the frames... anyone have any clue what the difference is...

I have had a TC bros hard tail on a 72 frame come through my shop. A bit of futzing is needed but it's not a big deal. More important is that you hang onto those early engine mounts.

hmmm so i wonder if they other frames (david bird) will fit on with a little bit of fabbing or if its going to be a huge difference....

need longer axle from later year.
