Having a problem with the Wicked Soul blowing out headlights(2)..i did a check and Im getting 13.5 v at idle and 14.3-14.5 when I rev it at the plug.Has the stock tci and charging system..my thoughts are the volt readings are a bit high.Start with regulator?

I meant wattage, higher the wattage, the lower the lifespan' then you add in the vibes!

Motorcycles are notorious for needing the "heavy duty" filaments due to vibration. If you have a standard duty filament, that is oriented horizontally, it most likely will not last long. Motorcycle specific filaments and sealed lamps are often constructed with a vertical element and a horizontal reflector/diffuser. If you have automotive lamps, take a look at how the filament is oriented. We have to do the same thing on aircraft landing lights attached to the landing gear. If you orient the filament horizontally, you can blow a $400.00 lamp in one landing.

I was blowing headlights until I found a weak ground on the headlight. Check the grounds.

A lot of people will wire the headlight so both high and low beam are on at the same time. The heat from having both filaments on at the same time can also shorten bulb life.
