To all of you up in the North East who are about to get hit with Sandy and the Cold from the north, my heartfelt sympathy. Just because a lot of us are down here in the Sunny South doesn't mean we don't know what is coming your way. Members from all corners of the US have experienced what you are about to and we feel for you.

Try to stay warm and dry and don't forget the extra dog food and beer. Nothing worse than being trapped in the house with a hungry dog and no beer!

Raining pretty hard in Delaware and the real storm doesn't get here for 10 hours. The remnants of the eye are predicted to pass 5 miles from my house. I hope passing over New Jersey takes some of the sting out of the storm. Going to be an interesting day. At least work is cancelled because of state of emergency.

Good Luck to You all up there!
make sure the gas the cars n generator. They shut off the power when the storm approches down here. they probly will do that up there too.

Good luck to you all, thinking of you down under! fill your baths, sinks, buckets, jugs etc etc with water. Recall the rhyme of the ancient mariner; water water everywhere and not a drop to drink!

Trees and power lines down in my yard, some flooding downtown... gonna be a really mess to clean up, but nothing too extreme here. I'm worried more for the folks who are directly in the path!

Good luck to all in the path of sandy. Thinking of you all, let the destruction happen anything can be fixed, your lives are what count.

It's tough on the barrier islands when the ocean meets the bay on Main St....
Wind gusts up to 50 MPH here on the extreme western edge of the storm.....but we're 600 miles away from the center. Epic, they say.

Looks like sandy hit south Jersey near AC....we made out ok in Smyrna. Rain and wind , but nothing dangerous. We hope all those hit hardest are doing better today.
flthead , hoping you made out allright.Kev.
