Its funny that you can get a title for a custom vehicle but getting a title for an old bike that hasnt had a title with it forever is pretty much impossible.
One of the many reaosns i hate the state of Illinois. I miss Michigan for so many reasons. lol
Anyway, love the build, it looks great.

Well, those guys from the Secretary of State Police were right. One week and a day after they were out I had a license plate and registration in my mailbox. Just a week after that I had a title in hand. Time to tear down that engine and rebuild for Spring. Lower cylinder gasket is leaking anyway...

Hey there! I know this thread is kinda old, but maybe someone can help me out. Came across one of these "spider egg" diodes in my 82 kz250 CDI box. Haven't been able to find anyone who knows what they are and was curios what type and size diodes you replaced yours with. Thanks!

I believe I used a 1N4005 diode in replacement. Found them at Radio Shack.

Bike is done, though I need to replace the base gasket as it's started to leak on me. We had a boy, and one more on the way, due at the end of August!

I'm fairly certain it started life as a stretch sport bob aftermarket tank, though someone had done some work to it (or worked it over 
) before I got to it. Something like this:
