Made new seat pan to contour the lines of the VI brat kit.

Some Ideas for seat padding. Put a gel seat in the middle for added comfort. Still coming up with ideas.

Yee haw! Remember, you may want to put some siding on the edges of the seat pan so it doesn't cut through the upholstery. Car door trim from the auto store works good.
 
I see you reinforced the middle of the seat pan. Did you just double up on the original gauge sheet metal? How did you attach it? I can't see from the pics, almost looks like welds. Rivets?
 
Seat pan is 16ga. This should be strong enough as the pan rests on the frame. I did decide to reinforce with 12ga plate that was welded in center of the bend. I drilled 1/8" holes for the rivets spaced 1" inch apart all around the pan. I bought a car side door molding for the edges and spray painted with rustoleum! Bottom layer is a rubber/neoprene blend. The top layer is a closed cell foam. The 3rd layer is memory foam. I used an angle grinder and my handy dremel to shape edges of the foam!
