That's a cool!! I actually took a couple of this redshoulder today, about an hour before the finch photo. He likes to hang out above my house watching the feeders. It is very hard to get a good pic of him as he is right above the front door and the only way to photograph him is to walk outside.

I was about 20 feet from the one i photographed. He is NOT scared of people. When he flew by me, he was within 5 feet.
Once, I had to slam on breaks to avoid hitting a bald eagle in the road picking up road kill. He picked up the carcas and flew for over a minute less than 8 feet from my drivers door carrying a dead animal. I had time to roll my window down, grab my phone, chose video and get 45 seconds of video of it right beside me. We made eye contact. It was very Nationl Geographic-y. Never been that close to an eagle in the wild. Never will be again. Unless they are pecking my eyeballs out.
