Based on your proximity to Hugh, I think there is no better bike to be tinkering with than an XS650. It should be NC's state moto. :bike:

Oh my, a hot young blonde with a 650, just what we need around here, lol. As instructed, go see Hugh, he'll set you up right. Now ..... a little more info please ..... you say you love cars and bikes but what's your history with them? Actually, I don't much care about the car side of the story. The bikes though, let's hear about them ......

You say the XS11 forum referred you? Do you ride one (or just fixing it up)? Years riding? First bike? That 1100 is an awfully big bike for someone to start out on. If it isn't going yet, I suggest you shift your focus to the 650. Great all-around bike, not too big but not too small. Just about the most perfect do-everything bike around - and a "real" motorcycle to boot. You will experience the "essence" of motorcycling on one of these.

IDK.... I live in South Bend, IN... same town as Notre Dame (HATE that school) and for the last week or so, all we have heard about is Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend and the whole interweb hoax.... so, I will wait until you go to HHB and Hugh posts a pic of you and him, TOGETHER... then, I might have to believe that this lovely young lady is for real! Lol

sometimes starting out with a bigger bike is good. Makes the underlings more flickable.
When I was 11, my dad put me on a big suzi enduro,
(big to a 11 yr old) showed me how to bump start and said have fun, and off i went.
Where's Barb? We need a shout out to the women of xs650. Calender maybe?

Guys I'm honored you feel I'm worthy to be a fake but rest assured I'm legit. I'm not on here to cause any issues or drama. I'm here to work on some vintage bike I know little about. No worries this isn't my first bike. I've had a few gsxr's and actually fell in love with bike building by bringing a TL1000R back to life from the grave. Now back to the news!

But you know, I met a bike babe at Mammoth Cave, Ky from Nashville who was real for sure. 30-ish, and she knew more about bikes and cars than most of us here put together. She really did. It was an astounding first for me. Her problem was that she had recently been arrested for going about 150 mph on a bike and her job as a lab equipment salesperson was in jeopardy because she wouldn't be able to drive for awhile... She seemed to think she might have a "fixer" lawyer, but I doubt it. She had lots of pictures of herself riding around a track.

lol i'm gonna swing by and see Hugh hopefully tomorrow. I'll be sure to take pictures. All you doubters can just be jealous that i have Hugh in my back yard! :p
