Hey all,
I just got back from the 1 show in portland,
It is fantastic to see a community of bikers out there that just love what they do...
It was a trip,
Got me thinking however...
What if we start an xs club in PDX and next year we rep at the show,
I am thinking a few rides, a monthly or bi-monthly meetup. etc..
this way we could all tell tales of where and how to find help, critique, and generally have some fun with our bikes,

If I get 5 people that want in, I am going to organize the first meetup.

I wish someone would take the reigns on something like that in my neck of the woods. I'm all for getting together with like minded folks...

-I think it's funny, at 6:00 you were all inspired and like, "yea, let's fuckin do this!" then at 9:00 you were like "oh fuck, I'm a nerd!" Made me laugh:laugh:... Stick with the idea, it's a good one.

Admitance of nerdery is not the same as calling it off... Lol
When i get some time i am gonna pm every pdx'r out there on the forum and get this going. I think it would be rad to organize some xs's... Down at the show i was at they had at least 10 pristine kawi 500's. so i have been talking to them about an xs exhibit.

Went to The One Show today myself. I'm about an hour out of P-town and currently without a running bike, but I wouldn't mind hearing about any rides you set up in the future...

My 650 won't be the first project on the road, my 920 will be - did you see that red Yamaha V twin (XV920R - chain drive Virago) to your right as you come up the ramp at the One show? Aside from some different mods, that is what I'm working on, and it is a lot closer to being a running bike than my 650. Really just need to straighten out carb troubles.

Yeah Marv, I pointed that Virago out to my wife, Thought it was pretty nice, I have never been a fan of v twins but that looked prettty bitchin.
I will keep a tally of who's around the area and start a email list I think, pm me with your email or post it here, whatever. I will start organizing this as soon as I get a little more interest. were you at the 1 show today? I had my 77 down there by the front doors.

What would you call your club ? You need a cool name to attract members . Too bad "Hells Angels " is already taken , seemed to have worked good for them .

What about the insecure and the needy ? A club would be good for them ,they need constant reasurance , some one to tell them " no, that motorcycle does not make you look fat " . More like a support group ...

3 people so far,
and no this is not a damn gang or club, just a way for local 650 riders to have a local help resource and some organized rides with some events taking place, if we have enough people it makes getting into shows and what not a ton easier

"If you build it they will come ." There are probably a few existing vintage motorcycle clubs in your area and most likely they have some members that have XS650s that would probably like to go for group rides with other XS owners. I belong to a vintage club but they are mostly Brit bike owners but more Japanese bike owners have been joining in the last few years .

If you go to "Members List", Search, advanced (on the right hand side) and try oregon in the location field you get 73 forum members. Not everyone fills this in, though but should give you a good start. Sounds great. Where the hell is it? Is it sunny? Is there a local airport. (It's raining here.) lol
