Hi ,are there any XS650 owners in the UK who would be willing to offer
advice on my XS2 restoration,things like where to get parts from in the Uk
and help with the electrical side of things .I am in the NE lincs area

Thanks ,every little bit helps.
I am looking for things like where to get soda blasting done and maybe chrome etc,it seems that over in the U.S there are a lot more places to do this sort of thing.

I'm pretty new to this too. In fact, my bike is still in the boxes I bought it in!! Will start soon enough. As I said the guys over on that forum would probably be able to help more with that than me!

Don't know about soda blasting but for chrome there's a place down in Hythe, Kent that are pretty good from what I hear. Can't remember the name at the mo but they advertise in the classic bike mags.

For engine parts I used heiden tuning a lot and yambits occasionally.
Heiden have great customer service but there postage seems to of taken a hike up of late so hence yambits .

Yambits are good, ebay is very useful, for chroming I've got parts off at R&s Electroplating in Manchester at the moment but reviews are good.
The guys in the US like TC Bros and Lowbrow are excellent and usually take around 10 days to ship to the UK

Put a new battery on today and got a spark on both plugs and points and working
lights,well pleased with that I was feeling a bit despondent when I got the bike and nothing worked,The starter motor clicked and buzzed a bit but didnt have the power to turn the engine over but not too worried about that at the moment ,She's alive !
