Who Rode Today?

First ride of the season, checking out all the flooding around town (Lowell, MI)
Library got spared, but some of the downtown businesses did not, saw some hoses comming out of windows draining basements.

And the Fallasburg Covered Bridge (notice the bbq poking out of the river)

First time out in 20 years for a early spring ride to Narragansett, RI. Fixed a small leak and I think I'm good for the year.

Phail your face is looking a bit better. Do tell what that was about?

This cold weather has my garage clogged with bikes, the spring buying frenzy just keeps getting pushed back and back some more.

Sharp 77 ronstern!

Took it around the block a few times to feel out all the mods I did this winter. From scratch wiring harness was the biggest project. Seems to be running pretty well, hopefully it stays that way.

Finally had a good ride this weekend after fixing the electrcal problem. 72 and Sunny in SC. Will be heading to Myrtle Beach Bike week in early May. About 50 miles east from me. Hope she's ready.

Didn't ride today or yesterday. But the day before rode 400 miles. And the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that...

xjwmx You got out of Montana! Where'd the wind blow you now? Did you get by WR's place?

Hey! In Newport here, trying to take advantage of any/all spring sun I can. In three seasons, I've only seen three other XS's on RI roads! Let me know the next time you're heading out; I'd like to check out your resto.

I didn't see WR. The reason was I went down to Rapid City and they were predicting a foot of snow for the next day and a tornado watch south of there around North Platte. So I went east to Sioux Falls and just caught a little snow and ice. Kept avoiding the weather and continued east and came down through Indianapolis. Was going to visit NJ down there, another buddy on here, but was just so cold. The entire trip was in the 40s with drizzle about half the time. I finally get down here where it's in the high 60s and clear sky. I was wearing two thin layers of polypro then a thick shirt then a thick fleece layer then a leather jacket then sometimes a down vest then a rain suit over top of that :) 2000 miles of that.

Glad to see you got home.....was wondering how it was going to go for you as the weather was looking pretty fickle!
Got out for a short loop Saturday on the '77....damn, that bike runs good and quiet! Time to look into the '83's top end and change out the cam guide.....been 8K overdue thanks to a couple, note I said couple, of low quality guides that stripped out on install.......I do have a '80 engine sitting here with 150 lbs compression in both cylinders.......hmmm......nice to have options.

I have a buddy riding cross-country right now, RI to Vancouver. Heard from him in Duluth last night... Heated grips, electric jacket, and the poor bastard is still freezing his nuts off.... So hey, I really can't complain about sunny and "only" 50's here!

Hey Osteo, Rode to work today. I work in Middletown and rode it around Ocean Drive during lunch. Next warm(er) day, I'll be out and about again.

Been workinmg on the boat. It needed some things I didn't have so took the 75 out chasing parts. Went to Gander Mountain to look through nthe marine stuff. While in there I looked at the used gun rack. They had a pretty nice Remington 725 in 280 Rem.
$499. Should have bought it but couldn't carry it very well on my bike.
Got the parts I needed. Now the depth finders both work.

I got to take my first good ride today. Only about 5 miles, I still haven't got my inspection so I'm riding on expired plates off an old bike. Bike runs strong. First car to ever follow me on this bike was a state trooper. Lol. He must have had better things to do. Thinking about going to a 32 or 30 rear sprocket. It's stock right now 17/34. Also looking for a shorter clutch cable. The only one I can find is 650centrals ez pull. This is a very fun ride. I can't wait to get legal and put some miles on it.

Hooray to all the fellow first ride on new bikes!!

I did a couple loser laps of the neighborhood on my new build today. had to cause a little bit of a ruckus ;)

mine should be all ready by Tuesday! (pma will be here then!)

I was sittin on a battery as I rode today but damn it feels good! it is 22 Celsius here and I'm loving every minute of it :D

Bolted the sidecar back to the old XS and took it out for a shakedown run.

Its a lot more fun without the car but the kids have been bugging me all week long to get the sidecar back in service. Hopefully next year I will have a different bike for sidecar duty and the XS will be my full time dual-sport ride.

Finally got inspected and license plate. Street legal at last. Title in 7 to 10 days. Fingers crossed. Took a 30 mile ride to celebrate. Bike ran great. I got a couple minor kinks to work out, nothing serious. Perfect day.
