VM34s, ran like a dream for two years now, shit!

I would look at the ignition again . Cracks in the boots on the coil ,stuff like that . Sometimes weak ignition seems more like a carb problem .

Im leaning that way now. I just cleaned out my enricher circuit and no result. I pulled the plugs and am getting barely any spark. I was in the middle of cleaning up my points again when the wife called me in for brunch. I'll go back when im done and look for more electrical gremlins.

Reading this post, my thoughts were to go back and reset the carbs to the last known running setup.

The one used last year.

Over the winter the only thing that normally happens to carbs is dried up gas residue and gum. One good cleaning of the carbs and especially the inlet needles should have eliminated those as the source.

did this problem ever get solved ? if so it would be really helpful to know the outcome as I'm sure it will help others with a similar problem.

May or may not be the carbs:
The float height setting listed in the manuals is a good reference point. We use the "clear tube" method here. One can set one up easily with a piece of hose and a screw-in barb for the bowl. Probably the most important thing that we look for is not so much the height, but the same level in each bowl. The floats can and will get jacked as far as position goes...this will help to eliminate that question. Many times, it is not actually a carb issue at all, but some times it is. It most definitely is a process. I get your frustration.
