Found these in a skip at work today!! Was shocked!(no pun intended!). I do not know what they are off. Hoping someone may know. They have some numbers on them but I don't know what they mean! They are 36.7mm in diameter. There is very little pitting and a few small scrapes, but they seem straight and work well without leaking.

The thing at the bottom of the 1 fork leg is part of an anti-dive system. They are air adjustable; the blue caps are covering a shrader type valve, like on a tires valve stem. They probably are early to mid 80's. Honda, and Kawasaki both used systems like these. I don't recall Yamaha, or Suzuki using anti-dive, but.....?

They are Showa. that's what the cast "S" on the raised dot is for. It often looks almost like an 8. My guess is 1985 VF1000F, although others might have used the single side system. The left leg used a pivoting caliper. When the brakes were applied, the caliper would pivot, sliding the valve that is on the other end of that lollipop, and restricting compression damping. A number of similar systems were run by Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki, although the Suzukis were on homologation specials. It's not likely you have one of those. Honda is the most likely, given the "S". They have a long standing relationship with the Showa company, and use them almost exclusively for street bikes.

I had an '85 VF500F for quite a few years. I remember there was a small knob on the front side of the lower right fork leg to adjust the anti-dive effect. Also, I'm pretty sure the fork legs employed separate axle caps, rather than the split legs with the pinch bolts like the ones in the pictures. I'm almost certain it's big brother also had the anti-dive adjustment knob, although I'm not as sure about the axle cap arrangement.
