Here is my 1979 Special II. Some recent 'upgrades' include a Standard model seat, mini turn signals, and the xs1 style badges from Mikes XS. I went for a nice ride yesterday and wanted to post some of the pics I took:

Nice to see more unmolested XS650's. If I ever find another I'll keep nearly stock with just a few subtle modern updates, like brakes, tires and suspension

that is really nice ! well done

Again, a really good colour scheme .

Its a difficult choice for me whether to go for a street tracker or cafe.....
I think my back will be grateful for a tracker and it will encourage a more leisurely speed too hopefully.

After messing about with the original CV carbs & points for a week or so I decided to bite the bullet - hard  and bought a Boyer ignition...... then I realized that bullet wasn't a blank (nearly blew me frickin' head off) and got a set of PWK carbs of an inmate :wink2:

Bike is 10 x better and after a bit of tinkering is running pretty damned good.... (clicky picture for the B-Movie video :( )

Something about that side plate and that helmet. Looks like there should be a number on the side plate. Looks good. :)
