Hi there,
just checking in from Norfolk, England UK.
I've previously owned a couple of XS650 in years gone by and hope to embark on building another one in the near future.
I must admit though, good bikes are getting harder to find over here and seem to command pretty high prices. Good deals do come along every now and then, so I'm keeping my eyes open.
I look forward to getting to know some of you guys.

Hi John,

Welcome from Northumberland!
I just bought another for a project - you're right getting few and far between, although there a re handful on ebay at the mo :)

Welcome from down in Devonshire suzyfan! Good luck with the search - the ever-widening gap between US prices (based on what guys on this board are picking them up for) and prices here in the UK makes me wonder if there might be some business mileage in shipping a load of XS's over here to Blighty. Wouldn't take too many to make the shipping worthwhile??

Hello from sunny Lancashire! I shipped an old one over from the States a TX650, it's a couple or so hundred quid cheaper than going through one of the dealers here in the UK that ship them over or ebay prices.

The main bonus is you get to choose exactly which bike you'd like quicker because there is a lot more choice in the States, prices there are starting to rocket also however.

welcome John
Looks like I bought at the right time last July.
I had been looking for about 9 months and thankfully was patient enough to pass over the usual rusty dross you see on UK ebay .

There is a British importer selling on ebay. They usually have at least one late Special per month in exceptional condition for £1500 or less .

Doing the math it really isn't worth buying a rusting non runner for more than £500 its amazing how much the cost of parts has risen in the past 12 months.

Thanks for all the responses guys.
This looks to be a very active forum / club. That's very encouraging considering how long the XS has been out of production.

Welcome John! As Peanut says, prices for spares are stupid expensive nowadays! I spent £600 odd on bits for my engine alone!!! All the parts that SHOULD be replaced are the most expensive! So think carefully if you buy that "barn find" that is rusted to bits!

If I were to get another one, it will be a running engine at the very least. Keep cecking fleapay, some good bargains do come up. Found an almost complete RUNNING hardtail abouot two months ago, and it went for £970!! All it needed was lights and a horn! I did contemplate on bidding but my funds were beyond repair!

Good hunting and keep us posted if you do find anything!!
