My first ever bike build!!

That CBR has to be fun though.
I've had to surrender my backpack at the door of some stores.
I tell them keep their paws out of my pack or I'll get them

You'll have your ass on that bike of yours in no time.
Carbon, I had use my little girls old side sling last time I thought it would be neat to run some papers over to the lawyers office. Yeah I pulled it off, 'cause I'm way too cool for school brother! :D

Didn't get ANY work done partly due to the shite weather and honey-do's that went horribly wrong!!

So we have a cuppa and a ciggie. He reads the instructions. "have you read these?" "Yeah sure I read them, I always read them!"
He replies: " it says here, test light WHEN IT'S DARK............."
:yikes::eek::doh::banghead:

I just told everyone in the fish and chip shop so it will be all round the village tonight and viral on the net by morning :D:thumbsup:....hope I spelt ya name right ..

Thats exactly the sort of thing I do every day nowadays except I would have stompted on it in a swearing fit of rage and hurled it down the garden

Still ya got a ride on a nice bike out of it so it wasn't all bad

You could still do with some sort of camera and recording device really ...either that or wire the shed door up to a really Big capacitor like out of a camera flash nod nod wink wink

Right, I have decided to do the dreaded LIST!!

I should have done stuff on the bike today, but my tiredness got the better of me!

So lets do this...................

No particular order, I'm just putting it on here as I think of it.

- Mount headlight properly
- Find replacement brake line for clutch and front brakes
- fab steering stop
- finish off foot pegs
- replace tyres
- add chain
- mount front fender
- fabricate rear fender
- mount rear fender
- mount rear light
- mount indicators
- mount coils
- add spark leads
- mount tacho and speedo
- recon front caliper/s(not sure if I want to go twin or single yet)
- paint and drill rotors
- possibly make spacers for calipers/rotors
- mount number plate
- wire entire bike
- mount PMA/boyer(not sure which one to get yet, thinking Boyer as it's local)
- mount rear brake switch
- clean gas tank
- paint gas tank
- plug excess petcock holes
- add horn
- add fake oil tank for housing electrics
- paint fenders
- add key starter
- add hi/lo light switch
- add kill switch
- sort out exhausts
- add neutral light
- add petcock
- install fuel line
- add filter pods
- add oil
- add fuel
- run engine
- tune engine
- get MOT!!

There are probably more, but I can't think of them righ now. If and when I do I will add them.

Wow, a BIG list! Guess I'll be busy this winter!!

It was a good time last night.
There must have been 1000 bikes there last night.
Mine was the only XS650 that I saw :D
Mine is the only XS650 I ever get to see.
I do know that there are 2 more around the area I've seen pix of them
I forgot to take my camera.
I did snap one pic with my phone cam just before I left.

we always knew you were one of a kind Carbon :D:thumbsup:

Must make you feel a bit special to be the only xs650 there

If that was over here they would all look at you with distain and ignore you like you had some unmentionable disease they might catch lol:laugh:

That's way too cool Carbon! I wish there was something like that here.
Being the only XS650 isn't all that bad, makes you unique and different. Which like peanut said, makes you one of a kind brother!:D

Bike looks great. Long list but you are moving along at a fast pace. I would say won't be as long as it has been. Keep up the good job you are doing. Done in no time, hard part out of the way

Great looking bike! I think I should duplicate your list to keep myself on task:banghead: What handlebars are you using, They look like a tracker/clip-on hybrid?

So here's the light mounted. I found a T-bracket, twisted, bent, cut, and drilled the fecker and this is the end result!

I did realise in the end I didn't need a t- bracket, but I had other plans to utilise it, but it didn't work out that way so this did!

And the front indicators are on!

I busy making a template for the Tacho and Speedo, I will hopefully get to it tomorrow!

I also decided to check if the calipers would work with the wheels. They don't........

They do look nice on there though!

So I need to find a smaller alternative to fit them on the forks....................

thats the spirit ! well done that man.

Guess I'd better brave the cold and do somethin myself tomorrow :wink2:
