She's coming along nicely Paul
Man I would like to see the sights of Egypt.
Some diving pretty much every where in the Med would be very cool.
Have a good time down there tomb raider
Thanks guys! Carbon, the Med is OK but it's the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba where I go. The water is soooo clear! You should go! You'd love it!
John, black it is! you d love it
Hey Sub, I do but not in winter. Europe on the bike in the summer when the weathers good. After that it's skiing or Egypt. New Zeland in Feb, thn back to your neck of the woods in July I think. A few weeks criss crossing the states. Get a brew on chaps
Well - the bike show was excellent and I spent far too much
So - A little more progress on the build since I have been back. Got the clutch lever on and the clutch set up and working. Put the mast cylinder on for the front brake and mocked up. Fitted the spacers and new bearings to the rear hub to take the drive sprocket and the rear disc (which I still have to find). Fitted some very nice rear shocks (they arent real Ohlins )
I have some front discs on the way from a FZR 600 which are the 298 diameter and hopefull the spacings will be OK but Im expecting a little machining work on those . I also had to cut a V into the kickstart and bend it in about 1" to avoid hitting the new rearsets. Welded it back up and it was very good, despite being cast.
I'm keen to see this front disc of yours! I still don't know what to do with mine, hopefully this will work as I also want to use the blue dot caliper(s) on my forks. I can't remember, is that a stock xs front wheel??
Haven't commented on this thread so far , but top work , neat idea with the Rearsets, when you have finished you should get in contact with the bikeshed motorcycle club and see about putting it in their show in London, they would love it.
Hi All,
Thank you for the comments - very kind!
Stuproj46, thank you, yes that is a very good idea! I did see something about that but can't remember where
Airwolfie, they are originally from an XV535, the same hubs but a lot cheaper and more plentiful than the XS. Hopefully, I can get stuck in next weekend and get the front discs sorted out. Then the rear to tackle after that
