where do i find parts!!??

micheal over at 650central.com is a great guy. not quite the stock as mikesxs but much better customer service. i try to get as much as i can from him.

Your local hardware store can be a source for metric nuts and bolts. Google stuff like chrome fasteners. Check out the Classified section http://www.xs650.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=4 for stuff people here have for sale or trade. I have some stuff posted over there myself.

You can also post a Wanted ad over there.

And, welcome to the game. It's all fun. Most of the time!

mikesXS, but be warned some of the parts are low quality and sometimes certain parts do not fit or equal the stock part size.. an example would be carb jets & needles.

marvintheminnow You are wrong.

newtothegame, If you buy the kits the needles may be wrong but the info on the MJ's and AJ's sold as separate items is correct as are the needles

Thanks for that link. It amazes me how hard it is to get 10mm x 1.25 pitch cap screws. Everyone sells 1.5 pitch.

Here's another tip: before you scrap a foreign car or bike, pull out as many fasteners as you can. All those good Metric screws, nuts and bolts are worth on average a buck each. Get the fuses, bulbs, electrical connectors, too.

If you go through as many fasteners as I do, it adds up fast. But, I'm a freak about nivce looking fasteners on a project. Old, buggered up bolts and nuts ruin a good look. ANd I hate Phillips head crap!

hey thanks! for the info. this is a great forum, ive been to a few others & dont get HARDLY ANY useful information. does any one know where to get things like a newer or alternate regulator/rectifier and also blinker relay. something smaller & easier to hide?
