Project BOARDCHOP - Build Thread

Is Scotty a young guy or a old guy like me. Ask next time if he is part of the original INVADER WHEEL COMPANY from the 70's. I bought so many INVADER Wheels in the 70's that I may have bought there building HAHA. I even got suied because a wheel broke and the dude crashed. Back then we were running INVADER wheels on CB750 Hondas with 20" over girders and springers. When you did 70mph or higher you bounced down the block WHAT A RIDE....I remember and don't laugh before FRANKS you had to weld two sets of tube together and then cut them down HAHA we rode by the seat of our pants. If Scotty is a original tell him Rich from JAMMER CUSTOM CYCLE PHILADELPHIA SHOP said hi. For you young guys JAMMER was a franchise you bought into and sold and built bikes. I was in the 70's / 80's EASYRIDER
mags in the back were the shops were. SOUTH PHILLY MOTORCYCLES My first shop HAHA now I show you how old I am . I had the first and all the way up to 1999 Easyrider then my X wife threw the boxes out while I was away for a vacation with the state.

Man... You guys are OLDSCHOOL COOL!!

Last time I spoke to Scotty I believe he said was turning 70ish this month. He mentioned he made the first invader for Marv Hall with Hallcraft in the 70's. I think he mentioned they were called by another name, I don't recall tho. I'll let him know you said hi! I think I spent 2 hours chatting with him one time! Really cool guy and very knowledgeable. He takes pride in his product and goes above and beyond on answering and researching questions.

that could look ok. maybe a little deeper and not so sharp on the bottom. and the indents will only mean less fuel. if its a town cruiser which it looks like it will be based on the bars and assuming the pegs will be mid, give it a shot.

I'm sure you've seen Luthor's build, but the tank he is thinking about running would flow with your lines perfectly too. You guys both seem to have a great eye for detail!

Don't recall this build, I'll have to go look for it now :)

Thanks Johnt3! Yup exactly, Going to have to get a 3d mockup.
Oh, that will look good jdizon. At the top of it,are you thinking a little raise panel?

Cool tell him I said HI. They use to make a wheel with a brake for front too. I use to by from a lot of guys back then. I use to talk to Russ Collins and Arlen Ness over the phone like we were pals . Funny back then you had to make the sale so the owner got on the phone. When I was in my 30's and started Drag Racin Bikes we use to swap tools at track with all the big guys that have millions now. I raced against Terry Vance on Funny Bikes and a lot of guys that were or still big use to come to our South Philly Shop. Those were the good days got paid to show up with the bike.
Good old days

cardboard template mockup of the tank shape. Radiused top, flat and sharp bottom. Pretty much a sportster tank shortened.

Decided to go with a custom 21x3.50" round spoked invader for the rear. For tires I'm going with Avon Venom's 120x70-21. Will do the same for the front but with 90/90.s
