I would like to replace the small 12v light bulbs that illuminate the backlighting for the gauges with something LED for brightness. Does anyone know where to source this type of bulb? Part #?

You should be able to look it up online and find an LED equivalent. I would caution you that a lot of the “Cheap” led lights that you will find on ebay are complete junk and will die with the slightest vibration. If you find one from a reputable dealer, but it costs a little more (~$15), it’s worth the money. ;)

This site might help you narrow down what you are looking for specifically: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/wedge-bulbs/.

OP, did you ever follow through with this? I am looking to do this as well and wondering which bulbs to order from superbrightLEDs.

Does anyone know what the stock bulb type is for the speedometer / tachometer?

I did. I found two different styles on ebay. They were something like 10 bulbs for $2.99 including shipping. I'm not sure I can look up my ebay from that long ago, but I can take a pic tonight of the bulbs if it helps.

I looked up my purchase history on e-bay and here is the description of the bulbs I bought:

6pcs BA9S 10 SMD Xenon White High Power LED Light Bulb Car Van Truck DC 12V Lamp

They were more like $1 each (including shipping)
