ljevans,
Both carbs are tilted the same amount so the fuel in both bowls sloshes over to the edge and rises above the parting line between the carb body and the bowl, so they both leak. I consider that to be normal. When the bike is in motion, centrifugal force keeps the fuel level in line with the natural horizontal position of the fuel.
So, try parking the bike on the center stand. And turn off the fuel when parked on the side stand. I have the same problem on a couple of my bikes including my CB750C. I just turn off the fuel when parked on the side stand. There is no leakage when on the center stand even with the fuel turned on.
Also, bowl gaskets ain't what they used to be. Most are very cheap so they will not prevent the fuel from leaking past the parting line between the bowl and the carb body.
