As a piece of art, it scores high, but as a bike to go for a 2 hour ride in the country, it scores very low. Suspension is useless...................I'd like to see the bike hit a pot hole in the road, or cross over a railway track at more than 30 km/hr.

Its just another show bike, which should not be confused with bikes that are regularly driven on less than perfect roads.

If you ever want to go for a ride with me I'll show you want this bike can do. I'll rides this all day I beat I'll ride longer and hard then you with my bike an

And for you I'll stop by your house cause I bought a bike from you up in wis and I'll ride the bike from chicago out to you and we can ride together to show you this is a bike that looks sick and can ride see you this summer gggrey

There's more where that came from..........

LOL Hell yeah, come on up we'll see how long my old bones can take it!

gggrey gggary I like it!

Looks like you have some big springs in there. Should work. I think with that steep an angle it starts to act as a dropping (as compared to rising) rate suspension. As long as the coils bind to act as stop before anything bad happens should be OK??? Those steep angles make for some pretty impressive compression forces. both on the shock and the swing arm mounts.
This brutal winter has destroyed a lot of Wisconsin roads. This week it was pretty damned rough on state roads in the VAN! every tar seam is raised 1 to 3 inches bang bang bang.

I've seen a bike with a better shock angle than this fail catastrophically. The angle was too steep, the forces at work literally snapped the shock rod on one side which bent the other side and a horrific crash ensued. I know you are all high and mighty and you have put your faith in this bike because you built it, and since you built it and won first place, it cannot possibly be wrong or dangerous, but PLEASE please rethink that rear shock setup. You are asking for catastrophic failure and if that happens at speed you are going to be in a lot of trouble. What you have built is beautiful, but as many others have also said, it is extremely dangerous.

No rear brake?

Doesn't need one.... just slide back and get some skidmarks on the outside o' yer shorts! With the "slowspension" and the fact there is only one set of pads, I bet they wear half as fast :wink2:

As long as the coils bind to act as stop before anything bad happens should be OK???

Awe c'mon, he won't be going fast enough for anything bad to happen.:laughing:

Oh well more time to spend polishing a trailer queen... BTW nice finish on the covers...

Hmmmm.......XS650.....1st Place Award...good size show...Congratulations are in order and everybody should pony-up on that!

Slightly baggy pants ......kevlar cheek pads .....a carbon fiber cup ......stretch your arms a bit....you can perfect a new friction technique of slow-down.

We'll call it The Wedgie Brake........and you will make money.

Sorry......NONclow started it.

First place in a show will put in last place on the street. It could be made to be ride and handle. Loose that extended swing arm and some travel in the front end. Other than that it is a back of the pack ride. Looks non functional to me. Pinks ? :D
