xs650 build off 2014!!

Tj brutal Customs has bends that he sells for quite a bit less then summit. 3/8ths is pretty gnarly for the flanges lol. 1/4 inch seems to be the standard and is what I've always used with no issues. I doubt it'll hurt anything going that thick tho just not necessary imo. Pipes look cool tho man.
I'll consider 1/4" plates, but if you look at the original castings they are very beefy. And the stud length can handle 3/8". It would be more drilling and shaping. I'll check out TJ Brutal Customs for my next exhaust project. Thanks

For sure man. Like I said definitely not gonna hurt, it's just not the norm when you buy an aftermarket exhaust. Pandemonium, tc bros, etc all 1/4 inch plate steel.

Not much of an update for march. I did get my pegs/mounts done, but no pics. I also did the stash tank for another member here last week. I'm going to run a horizontal version where the brass cap will be a shot glass and the tank will be whiskey storage. I'll get pics of my pics up asap.

Can't wait to see how your build turns livingdead out looking forward to coming down and checkng out your shop when it warms up would love to make the ride to ohio with you guys

Well then you have to go! We will have a chaser vehicle rolling too, so if you are unsure of your bike you can still roll with us!

March update:

I forget all that I've done this month, but it includes getting some paint on it so it doesnt rust, putting the engine in, building exhaust, etc.

A bit to do to exhaust still, need to paint it and wrap it (painting to prevent rust)
Next month should start on wiring.
Still need to lace that wheel to the xs hub, and install my steering bearings.
So much to do, so little time.

And still waiting on bars.... :banghead:

:EDIT
Originally, I wanted to run the exhaust one on each side and then under the rear fender and out the back, but was running into clearance issues if the tire was adjusted forward and springs compressed. Bummed me out, but I'm happy with the high pipes

Busy month for me . Managed to put in the engine . Electrical is about done . Have not had much time for wrenching , but the build is still on track . I need to order cables and small stuff to finish . This is my March post . My goal is to start engine next month .
Still lots to do . It will be done before summer .
Regards,
CPKID
