Hello,
First off I'd like to say that I am a new member and I appreciate any and all advice. Forums like these are so helpful to those like me who become frustrated with symptoms like no starts that cause us not to be on the road riding.
So here is my problem. I have an 81 xs650 that is fighting me to start. I had an issue with my coil. I had the xs performance high output coil that the connectors broke off the back. So I ordered a new coil the nice green one from xs 650 performance. Still didn't start. Well I have the ignition unit black box that I still think is the problem. But I read some more forums and they talked about replacing the 4 diodes that are known to go bad. Still no start. I found out that I had two 6 pin connectors switched. I switched them back and kicked it over and it started. I turned it off from my kill switch that powers my modules and went to restart it10 minutes later and nothing. Definitely not getting any spark. Not sure what else to try.
