Well I finally finished bringing the '72 XS650 back to life. Its been a long slow journey but I rode it today and she did wonderful. All original except for badges... I left the gas tank with its "character" in tact for now since it is all original.

Thanks to all of you that helped answer my questions, 5twins, Max Midnight, XSLeo, yellowdog to name a few, and were patient with a new guy!

Also the tech section was a huge help get me through some questionable head scratchers...

Here are some old vs a new pic.

Pleased to have been of some help however small.
The xs2 in my opinion is a truly nice looking motorcycle and yours is one of them.
I have nearly finished my build now ,today I got the headlight to go on and off ,lol
It has taken me days to sort out the headlight wiring and I am now one step closer .

Yellowdog you helped with the front brake. Without that brake I'd still be going on the freeway!!! Thanks for the kind responses everyone.

Well done!

Dude—I'm in Colorado Springs. So is the fellow who bought the Scrambled 650 in Brit Racing Green from Ketchup.

We need to organize. But only loosely so as not to take the fun out of it.

The BMAC—British Motorcycle Association of CO—is another option. Like all cool bike orgs, they are brand/make tolerant. Google their name for details.

Lastly, I recently pounded out most of the dent in my gas tank if you're interested in seeing the results.

Congrats again on a job well done, and providing another source of inspiration.
