I'm looking for some ideas on what tanks fit the xs other then the stock. I'm okay with some modifications, but really would like to get an idea on what my options are.

So I call upon the brotherhood of the forum to share with me their pics of what has been used in their builds.

At the end of this I'm hoping there is a tank out there that not only can look great, but be found cheap.

Here is a sporty tank I cut the tunnel out, raised it so it hugs the bike more. New tabs, gas outlets..

I had the same question that I posted a couple of times on the forum. Didn't get too much response but I did get that a DT400 fits for one. Go to search on this forum and type in what you are looking for and I am sure there are more.

First question I have is, do you have a stock or modified XS? Various tank styles fit various types of mods.

Here is my mustang single cap on my Monstercraftsman brat kit.

I went with the xs750 standard tank. Clear coated it on the cheap. There's an easier way to mount it with bolting receiving tabs to frame..otherwise you can alter tank tabs as I did.

I have an XS 750 tank on mine. As far as bobbers I think the Cole Foster is hands down the best looking tank. By the way, there are a couple of nice looking XS 750 tanks on ebay right now if anyones looking.

Heres mine, an 81 bobber with a honda rebel tank. I love the teardrop shape. It does have some fitment issues- the petcock hits the top of the engine, but a shorter petcock and raising it some fixed that. I dont know what year the tank is, it came with the bike.

first pic is the day i got the bike, to show what it would look like on an all stock (if very beat up) bike, second pic is a bit closer to how the bike looks now.

I also found this one with a Savage tan, amongst a bunch of other Savage parts.I think it belongs to somebody on here.I was going to do mine like this because I do a lot of Savages. But he beat me to it.

Agree it is really dependent on style of the bike you want. This is my Champion 750 styl

The XS750 standard is on of the easiest. Remove the tank mount cups off your frame. Use your original rubber mounts with a washer in them, bolt them backwards to your frame in the correct spot, and install the XS750 tank,

Best looking combination I have ever seen was a cole foster tank with a springer front end. Spades style.

Dude, you can literally use any tank you want. Every single tank you could use other than stock will require some modifications. There is not a direct bolt on replacement other than stock, so literally any tank on the planet COULD work. It all depends on what you want.
