Should I look for other suppliers?

Been down that road with him. Only ever got him by email. After that had good quick replies, customer service, fast shipping.

Didn't that business change hands a few years back?

I don't think it ever did Gary. He had some family issue's that were supposed to be taken care of I thought, He was supposed to retire from full time job to devote time for Omar's. I don't know how much or if any of all that ever took place. The biz was for sale like you said. Pregrid used to go there often during his build as it was fairly close to him. Maybe he will see this and can update us.

From what I have gathered from various posts/boards, that yes, several years ago it was bought by Robert from Phil and that it was again for sale at the beginning of this year. I dont know the accuracy of the latter.

I did the whole wait 5 months to get a tank game with him. Nice guy but he sources his glass from another individual who is not very reliable. I would not recommend getting those from him. However he most likely has the tail section in stock. The tanks are made to order. Once I got them the fit and finish was good

I had the worst experience ever with O'mars / Robert. I ordered thousands of dollars in parts, with the longest lead time quoted at 2 to 3 weeks. It took several months and a attorney threat to get my parts. A few of the parts I had problems with (brake parts) and ended up ordering replacement parts from other companies.
I highly recommend anyone considering buying parts from Omar's to surf the net. Omar's does not manufacturer any parts and uses other manufacturing shops that sell the same or similar parts. It just takes some time searching.

Just to let you know that place cost me about $600 on a faulty tank about 5-6 years back. To be fair I bought the tank while the first owner still owned the company and during the time it was being sold so nobody wanted to be accountable. The damn tank got destroyed by ethanol thats in the fuel these days. Also lost the money I had in a paint job as a result. Had a hell of a time getting a new tank out of him and that was after it shipped back and forth at least 3 times with him saying he could fix it. The bungs on the front of the tank also didn't line up with the grooves on the frame was the first problem. The insides of the tank ended up in my freshly rebuilt engine. Its your money, so if he is still in business, beware.

You may want to check out gopherglass or Grandprixspeedworks. I have read some good reviews here in the past regarding his fuel tanks and I think they actually build and race bikes themselves.
