Hey folks-I know Hughs got a kit to convert the infamous clutch cable with a hydraulic line. He mentions just finding a pit bike kit on Ebay. Has anybody done this and can recommend a specific model? thanks, CB

I am pretty certain the kits sold by HHB were the pit bike kits with a specific length of braided stainless line. I have a NIB kit from HHB if anyone would like me to upload pics for comparison?

Personally, I would have to recommend using an Aprilia hydraulic clutch. I just finished the install on my 72, and the operation feel over the cable is hands down better. I had the pit bike clutch from Ebay, and the longer line from HHB, but the combination of vibration, soft aluminum, and cheap o-ring seals led to leaks and failures that were unacceptable. I scrapped that configuration and began searching for an alternative. There are a couple posts describing the Aprilia clutch installation, and it was easier than I expected to get it to work.
Search ebay, as they come up for sale all the time. They can be a little spendy, as the components are Brembo, so it's up to you, but the extra money was well worth it IMHO. I'd be more than happy to provide pictures and help if you're interested in that path.

I recently put on the pit bike kit from ebay. They all seem to be the same to me so I just picked one that was the cheapest. I also found this clutch line that is the perfect size and length for my bike with clip-on bars. It works, but I haven't been able to road test it since my bike isn't complete yet.

Hugh's sells great product, however, the pit bike parts I got were Chinese manufactured. Only the hydraulic line came from HHB. Here's what the Aprilia set up looks like on my bike:

Sorry for the pic orientation.

I have the pit bike setup on my bike. I ordered the line and new hardware from Hugh and changed out the o ring where the line goes onto the slave cylinder and it works great
