Hey guys,

Finally got my rebuild turned over and sustaining which is awesome - thank you for everyone's help on here! Electrical problems solved.

Next up is controls. No bushings came with the bike (it was just clip on handlebars). I want to add bushings, risers and some nice classic style handlebars. I've been looking online and I've found the following:

http://www.dimecitycycles.com/1-inch-gloss-black-dcc-original-classic-handlebars.html

http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vinta...ell-black-stainless-risers-rs-ss-bk-00-0.html

http://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/p2917...-yamaha-xs650-solid-handlebar-riser-bushings/

Now being that I'm new and I don't have the original bars or risers to figure things out before I buy this stuff I'd like to check with you guys...slot the bushings into the triple tree, attach risers to bushings with hardware threaded through the center of the bushings, clamp to 1" handlebars. I don't think I see any compatibility issues here with my hardware of choice?

One last thing, 7/8" vs 1" handlebars...which is the better call?

Thanks guys,

D.

Fck dont buy the dime city shit its too expensive you are paying double those are 20 dollar bars CANADIAN, 7/8 bars look perfect on a xs , 1" fit hds better. its a proportional thing. those risers are meh but ok too much $ for what they are. and go with the stock rubber isolators and some superbike bars. they are 10-20$ the stock handlebar clamps maybe 10$ on the classifieds , and the rubbers and cheap parts xsdirect.com back east in ontario. what is the look you want i can point ya in the right direction.

Hey!! A local Vancouver guy...howdy!!

I bought a set of solid riser bushings from board member "figure8". I haven't started my build, but I have bought a few parts. I won't need these, as I remembered after ordering that I also ordered a set from HHB when I bought a few things from him. I paid 45 USD for the figure8 pair & would sell them if you are interested...

Hi D.,
stay with the 7/8" bars. All your existing 'bar hardware will fit right on at zero extra cost and used stock parts that are most likely findable in this list's want ads will hold them onto the bike without you having to eff around.
