I'm having trouble deciding on which tank I should use, the top is from an xs750, and the tank doesn't sit as clean against the seat, but not terrible either, the bottom is the original tank, and the seat sits nice and clean next to it. Just looking for opinions, thanks! [/IMG]

stocker cause it looks like a stocker. cleaner look. if you use the 750 tank you gotta change it up a bit more. my opinion though. dig the seat.

Hi SAV,
neither. The stock Special tank is too small and the XS750 tank don't fit right.
I swapped my Special tank for an XS650 Standard tank because it fits right on and holds more fuel.

yep me too +1 stock tank  love the seat

wotcha Airwolfie :wink2: you had a chance to work on your bike lately ?:bike:

Stocker for me too - with such a (nice) narrow seat there is too much of a 'drop off' coming off the back end of the 750 tank...

Stock tank, but like Fred sez,,a Standard for the extra gallon. Consider losing the side covers as the seat no longer has the drop angle. Referred to around here as 'gapsitis'. Mebbe a nice pair of the red Uni pod air filters......

Thanks for the input, I am going to go with the stock tank for now, the seat is from counter balance cycles (in case anyone was wondering), which fits well, I cut and ground off the brackets off today and mounted the seat (crudely). Now I'm just trying to figure out signals, brake light and license plate bracket placement. As for the side covers, I'm trying to figure out what I should do there as well, I was going to take them off, but everything underneath is uglier, a project for the winter months. At the moment I'm trying to just get it ready for the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on the 28th.

Check out d'dchefs seat conversion and Unis- sans sidecovers.

The Special frame doesn't like to give up easily for a horizontal line seat.
