Hi all,

I'm a bit stumped about this at the moment.

I have simplified the loom so there is only a hi/lo beam indicator and no running lights. The headlight was working fine, then started to only work sometimes, then not at all. There is power going right up to the headlight but if you plug it in there is nothing. I tested the headlight unit separately and it works. But together - nothing?

I was thinking bad earth or hi/low switch(switch seemed ok) - tail light and stop light work fine its just the headlight?

Has anyone had something like this happen?

I know this is a bit of a shot in the dark but last night I wanted to shoot the bike:banghead:

What are you using to test? Multimeter or test light? If multimeter are you getting full 12v at the headlight wire? Test your ground?

Check for continuity from the headlight ground to the battery minus.

I found it was the filament in the bulb - the lo beam had fried and connected to the hi beam filament.

Thanks for the advice.

Cheers

The headlight grounds into the rest of the wiring harness through the black wire.
