Has anyone matched the 1972 Candy Red to a house of color paint or something similar?
I'm going to have to paint an XS2 and could use help with the color match. I know Yamaha never issued what they used. Any help would save me money and time I'm sure.

when I got ready to paint my 72 I chose to use the European candy orange, black and yellow/red. since I live in alabama...everything here is Crimson and white...(college football)....

so I could help you with the orange but no luck on the candy red. I did however just take as many great pictures to my painter and he hit it dead on. so if you have a good painter or even a good shop supplier near, you could try that approach.

I'm not sure how close to stock this is, but they have 2012 paint and are in near perfect condition and I would be willing to sell them. Let me know how much they're gonna charge you to paint yours and i'll see if I can match it.

I know this is years old, but how did you make out on matching the paint. I have exactly the same questions. My headlight shell, turn signal stalks, and side covers all need to be redone. The company color was called brillrent red.

Hey Stone, what year are these pieces off ?

I have a set being done in the stock scheme using candy red right now, the painter is matching it to the stock color on the bottom of a headlight shell I have. The candy green works well for the 70.

I did get the paint done after all. My painter is pretty good. I didn't wait to long. You have to love the candy red.
