My toy, 79 Special. Not as nice as some of these other rides, but I love it. I had it done up as a street tracker, but went for a different flavor this year. Getting a new seat this winter and a repaint of the tank. Dogger

Here's my pride and joy!

Just kidding!!
but it should make you all feel a little better about posting yours if they aren't so nice

And this is after a hose down... I basically pulled this out of the woods (those are pine needles). Check out that exhaust!

INXS, i had seen lots of photos and had been in correspondence for some time with the PO before i made a decision, had been looking at a couple of others and had court them out in a lie. There had not been a bike for sale in my area for a couple of years. never mind.

Haven't got around to the carbs i will probably set up a set of 38's to get started, wasn't even going to rephase, if the crank was good i was going to bolt the 750 on do the top end with a port cleanup and go and just do things as i went

- ah yea, i forgot theyre not so common in the land of the long red road...750 works well with stock set-up and rejetted carbs

Difficult getting most parts in the land of the long red road:laugh:that'll upset the aussies, oops I am just about one

theres not to many bikes out there that i dont like.I am almost like a bike haorder:laugh:Its like the old saying when you die (the person with the most toys wins):laughing::devil:

twins! That tank and wheel are exactly what your project needed! Looks great! Where did the before pic go?

That was has the same seat mine has ! Did that monstrosity come stock ?

Hey Travis, the the header ares the 1 3/4" stainless pipes from Mikes XS. They don't really match the chrome too well but I kind of like the gold color on them. If I can find some baffles that will fit in the pipe and actually turn the volume down I'll be a happy rider.
Dogger:bike:

Hey Twin's, that wheel cleaned up real nice. I knew it would. It's allway's good to get out & meet a fellow XSer. I also like your new avitar, she is hot! Tank look's great, too.
Are you going to make that front brake line a one piece? Easy enough to do.
Also, that muffler look's good on the Mike's header. Much better than theshorty I got.:thumbsup::shrug:

Travis, I like the 2 muffler clamp's holding what look's like a pipe off a vacuum cleaner. The dual stripe tire is awsum( GAG,PUKE),sorry. I'll clean up the mess. How 'bout the front brake hose, is that for cooling the fluid after doin' the twisty's?:yikes: Love the seat, too. It's gonna make a nice project, her soul is just dyin' to get out of that garb.

Gordon, you should have seen the guy I got it from.. :er: My guess is it's a galvanized fence post. It wouldn't have surprised me if he was welding on it too.

He used what looked like orange RTV for everything! Rebuilding and engine and lose a cylinder head crown nut? no problem! just use one of the nuts off an engine mount!

Actually I'm just going to use it for parts since I don't have a title for it and I'd have to rebuild the engine again anyway since I don't trust what he did. It came with a lot of other parts too so I couldn't pass it up no matter how bad it was. Anyone want to buy a sweet seat! :D

jasper1252, you're using the attachment system so they are thumbnails. You can host them here in an album or host them somewhere else and use the
code to get them to show in full sized. see How to Post Pictures
