Just another grumpy old hack.
Labor day is Sept. 7th in 2015, that mat be a good weekend to work with. Have people come in on that Friday. Have the ride on Saturday and the judging/results on Sunday and still give people a day to get home. I don't know though it may conflict with other events.
I am in as a sponsor but I doubt I will be able to be there in person or as a builder. I am offering prizes:
For the winner:
A certificate good for 1 hydraulic clutch conversion as outlined in my shop thread (winner would still need to provide the cover and pay shipping both directions)
1 Alto 8-pack clutch kit
Retail value of $270
For the runner up:
1 Alto 8-pack clutch kit
1 certificate for 20% off a hydraulic clutch conversion as outlined in my shop thread (same rules apply as for the winner)

What about doing an online build-off so people everywhere can participate? Participants could start a thread documenting their build with proof of the date they started, then at the end someone sets up a poll so everyone can vote on the completed bikes.

A friend and I are Building a bobber this year and would like to be in. Looked over last years build off thread but just briefly. So I'm not familar with the rules. This will be our first bike built. We are always looking for new bike people to meet and this would be a good spot.

if its not the same weekend as the xs party at dans or the aco re-run in june ill build a bike for it. but as a I ran the build off end of the xs party in the past id say no online build off if it was me we had 0 builders finish when we did it the 1st year and only five of the 36 builders showed up in two year the we did this 2 the 1st year and 3 the 2nd I was one of the 2 the first year. If u give me a date ill do it if it doesn't over lap any other events im in year

as far as a date to do it i suggest late in summer or early fall because with shitty weather of winter in these northern states that many of us that will entering the build off, so we need the decent summer days to get stuff done too. but hopefully a date is zoned in on soon as i have already booked many weddings for next year.

I really want to say I'm in.... but money has kept my stalled for two years.... i dont know if it will get any better this year.... I want to try, but so far i'm still scrounging up money to freshen up my motor.... then a clutch and a soft stretch and a drop seat.... would love to do a big bore and rephase, but thats money i cant swing

sorry guys I not going to do a build off this year,not enough ppl are interested in doing it this year,I'm working on some thing may be later on next year,I'll let every one know. sorry If anyone wants to build a bike goahead and bild one and bring it to HAPPY DAN (PANDEMONIUM ) party bike show in Aug I'll be there with my new build

oh well... moneys not really there anyway... theres this gorgeous redhead with roots in Portsmouth, OH thats is gonna marry me in August.... I gotta make sure thats first and foremost.... maybe a full build after that...

no.. her grandma lived right on the river, an she spent some summers down there as a kid... moved down there and married her first husband in a little church in the woods then moved back up here to South Bend... we were down there for riverdays in 2013... hope to come down again in the spring. I know she's crazy... part of why I love her so much. lol
