Has anyone watched this new NAKED BIKE BUILD on TV???
Again here is another off the wall TV Show that thinks everyone is STUPID!
This is why these programs never run for long. Great Idea But lets be real a stripped down XS650 CAFE bike does not COST $18,000 to build and a OLD CB750 single cam Honda CB 750 stripped down doesn't cost $20,000 to build.
This is a INSULT to any hard working BUILDER if he is building out of his home or a commercial shop. This is OCC over again..... $150,000 HARLEY BUILDS.
Again GOOD idea and I think it is cool that there is a bike build program BUT lets make it real TRUTH in the build.
I built 3 years ago a all out Café XS 650 with MONO shock and all the bells and whistles and had more horsepower and ended up around $8,000
Program said this was never done before BULLSHIT I was not the first many have been built since 2007. I just hate programs that want you to be STUPID.
Both bikes came out great and good for the builders and if either one of them pulled those numbers I WILL GO BACK INTO BUILDING HAHA:thumbsup:

Hi Daddy,
betcha if you billed yourself journeyman's wages for all the hours it took to build your $8,000 bike the numbers would be up there too, eh?

G smoke a joint. I saw the show in a different point of view. The 650 turned out really nice. I really liked how they did mono shock with the Buell pull type shock. The motor was rebuilt with some performance upgrades. FZ 1 inverted front forks a nice no-frills 2 into to exhaust. Nice all around job.The purchaser of the bike was happy. Loaded Gun did a great job designing and building the bike. From the pile of crap that Honda was to the finished bike it turned out to be it took a hell of a lot of work to get it there. The problem with the show was the bullshit and not the bikes. I taped the show and did a stop action to really see how they did the swing arm since you only got a quick look. The cost of the builds nice if you can get it.

Wish I could smoke a joint....
Never said bikes looked bad or the builders were terrible. Just can't take the insult of the price on the end build. Looking at both of those bikes no more than $5,000 each in them if that. Mono under frame done before same design as Harley only problem like they found was with that style complete bike dips not just the front or the rear and can be very dangerous when brakes applied. Front of frame has too much load on it. I :thumbsup:liked the bikes just not the BULLSHIT that went along with it.
Now I know why PUNKIN CHUNKIN is big in Delaware its the PLANTS HAHA
Be good KEEP CHOPPIN:yikes:

Too much fake drama and like G said, way too much $$. You can't buy cool.
The only car show I watch is Wheeler Dealers. Love the Brit stuff and no fake drama, foul language, etc. and I can watch it with my kids. I'd watch a bike show like that one. Cafe Racer is close...

They trash caned the Buell under mount and went with backbone mounted shock before they finished. Wheeler Dealers is a good show.

I DVR'D it and watched it and will probably watch the show as long as there is new episodes (thank God for Fast FWD), I'm not gonna knock anyone, because if someone is willing to pay 18.5K for a bike to be built for them, Take It! more power to the builder if he can get it. We all know what it really would cost to build something of similar quality.
Rock On Everyone!

is the program actually called Naked Bike Build ? can't seem to find any reference to it anywhere. What channel was it on
Any chance someone has a link to a recording ? maybe the tube ? cheers.

All TV programs are going the same way these days . They are all being 'dumbed down'
I cannot see the point of this because they are definitely not going to attract and appease topic enthusiasts who you would think would be the target audience.

Also the idiots that they seem to be targeting learn absolutely nothing from all the histrionics and bullshit so whats the point?

If they need to have their daily dose of mundane inane drivel then they can watch programs like 'Celebrity get me out of here' or 10,000 years BC http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2015/feb/03/10000-bc-review-channel-5-reality-series personally I'd prefer to watch paint dry under water

We lost a top rated TV program a few years ago called 'Time Team' .An Archaeology program ,Its brief was to inform and educate people about the History all around us . It was brilliant. Really interesting and absorbing .

Then when the program had been running for 20 years and gone through 20 series and was still one of the top rated programs the producers decided arbitrarily to dumb it down presumably because they wanted to attract all the viewers that couldn't sign their cheques and write their own names.:wtf:

So they introduced some celebrity tv figures and some women with big tits that strutted around asking stupid irrelevant questions getting up everyones noses until the key participants that had made the show what it was, pulled out and the show closed over night :banghead:

Wheeler dealers and Top gear are about the only motoring shows left that don't treat you as completely dumb. Oh and cafe Racer

I agree that most bike builders do understand what it takes and cost to build one of these bikes. It just turns people off looking at a show like this that is blowing up the numbers to make it look good for the show. If they would have said $10,000 still high but maybe believable. The work that those guys do in Delaware is awesome and if they did get that type of money great for them.
Like OCC its advertisement money you and I know there is no such thing as a $150,000 chopper that shows up on EBAY the next year and only sells for $13,000. Its great advertisement money for those company's to get there name on TV. If they tried to buy that time it would be 5 times that amount. Now maybe the advertisement was the women BOB SLEDER but there was nothing on the HONDA guy.
I guess its just a TV thing because both bikes looked very good and builders did there job. Its most likely just me 63 YRS old FART that has been building bikes since 1970. Won or placed high in bike shows ,got some bikes in magazines BUT I NEVER HAD A TV SHOW HAHA!!!!:wtf:
PEANUT this is the same people of CAFE RACER which was a good show

I
PEANUT this is the same people of CAFE RACER which was a good show

yep ! I've still got a lot of cafe racer episodes recorded and watch them many times over.

I think the new series is called 'Naked Speed' not naked bike build

thanks Carbon thats a great preview. It really does look like its going to be a brilliant program . lets hope it lives up to the hype :D
