[BHi peeps ,

I'm fitting a rear brake hanger off a Ducati to the XS and need a disc with a diameter of 245mm of which I've a few but all have a far larger hole size in the centre which would require an adaptor of some kind making up .

So can anybody shed any light by either :-

A / Give me the details of a disc of 245mm with same or smaller centre hole than stock

B / Give me some info on anyone who has an adaptor of some kind to run a modern Disc

C/ Anyboby know where I could get a 245mm blank disc to machine the fitting pattern myself ?:doh[/B]

Sparky, can you post a few pics of the components you would like to use, it's easier to think "off the board" with pictures rather than words (for most folks )

Also, disc offset questions need to be asked and answered, all to do with the dish in the disc...

Hi . I may be able to give you some advice .. I have a cataloge and home that gives the sizes of all discs fitted to most bikes . I know you want a 245mm dia disc of which there are a few listed. What is the inner diameter hole you want and is it a flat disc or does it have an offset. if so how much to the top face if placed on a flat table.....also how many mounting points 4 5 or 6 and the distance between opposite centers....

you could always turn a xs750 850 or 1100 disc down, they all use the same stud pattern

Hi Charlie , that catalog you speak of would help a lot , I've ordered a Ducati rear disc but if I can get something to fit without machining an adaptor plate that would save time and effort .
Is it possible to email the catalog ?

hi just the disc section alone runs into 60 pages, so it would be impractial to email... the ducati rear you have was fitted to a 900ss ducati amongst others . There are 8 discs in the catalogue that are 245mm . but for me to make the best match i need the other measurments that i asked for..The chances of makeing a match that is a straight fit is remote but send me the offset and the opposite hole centers and the dia of the center hole and I'll send you the best match..... the xs650 rear is not listed, cataloge does not go back that far but may be something close....

Hi Charlie , would it be possible to list the 8 bikes that had a 245mm rear disc or front for that matter , dish or bolt pattern won't matter as I'm going to machine an adaptor to suit but the 245mm is the only measurement I can't Change as this is the distance from centre of axle to extreme of caliper , regards mark

Hi .....ok mate here goes but let me first point out that these are REAR discs, and that some of the trail bikes only use the 245mm discs for some years so get your seller to check what the size is ....
All ducatis from 1990 to 2002 use a 245mm rear models ss,monster,sport,748 , strada,851, 888, 900,st2, st4, all use 245mm
All modern laverdas 650 and 750.
Yamaha ... YZ125, YZ250 WR125,WR250,WRF426 ONLY SOME YEARS
Yamaha SRX400, XJR400,FZR600 FZS600 fazer, XJ600 DIVERSION , 600 thundercat TDM850 and 900 TRX850 Yamaha R1 up to 2003, and thunderace....
These are just the rear discs, there are one or two yamaha that use 245mm fronts but hardly worth a mention.... hope it helps good luck!!

start at pages 438-439 and work backwards. Although this doesn't help with bolt pattern, you'd at least have a list at 245mm to start searching for bolt pattern specs.

I've paged a bit,

FZ6r rear
RZ500 rear is 3 bolt but there's a chance that would work onto a 6-bolt hub if the PCD is the same.

'99 yzf750 rear
98-01 R1 rear
'93 XJ400 Seca II
86-88 FZ600 rear
'89-00 FZR600 rear
95-96 yzf600 rear
97-07 yzf600r rear
'86 srx600 rear
92-98 XJ600 Seca II rear
93-96 yzf750 rear
97-00 YZF1000 R1
06-08 CP250
