So, all week I've been getting ideas together of where to take my bike next. I have an idea but I keep gravitating back to a Café type style... but a café salt flat cross... Its hard to describe. I've attached a shitty drawing of whats in my head. The scale may be off just a bit...Please let me know your opinions.

Café racer lines but sits lower down....looks fast sitting still....

Let me know where you got your café seats and what tanks you like....

Thanks for the input.

I think you should do as you feel. If you build a bike to our specs it's our bike not yours.

You need to ask yourself how you intend to ride the bike.
If you intend to race between cafes in the UK, then the cafe style is perfect for you.
If you intend to take long trips, then your avatar pic is more appropriate.
I like your drawing, but personally I find the cafe riding position to be very uncomfortable.

I like that idea... Ive been drooling over a race style bikes lately...

Can i leave a photo for inspiration?

PS if you need a seat lmk, I do alot of custom projects as well!

Yes, cafe bikes look cool, but the riding position is anything but comfortable after an hour or so, or at slower speeds. I have one bike like that and it just kills me on longer rides. It's not so much my arms and shoulders from the clip-ons but rather the seat and rear set pegs. Squat down so your heels are almost touching your butt cheeks. Now stay like that for an hour or so. How's that feel? lol.

Yea I agree on the riding position for the café style.... Looks sweet but would get uncomfortable pretty quick. Id definitely keep my mid controls vs. going to the rears. Don't like the feet under my ass feeling. Not doing any racing, just back and forth to work. 60 miles or so round trip.

Thanks for the support. I'll look at your website and see If I find anything that strikes a chord.

that's why I had a very short love of affair of one year with a ducati 999. Good god the most race oriented seating, clip on angle and feet back position I have ever tried. Awful for a street bike. That and the boiling hot exhaust under the seat.

I made a compromise when I built mine. I used European bars with a slight lean forward and shifter in the original position. I have taken 2.5 hour rides and still feel good.
