Installing an aftermarket engine guard

Here is the engine guard I bought off E B. There were no instructons. Has anyone installed this type on their bikes?

I'm guessing the top part with the gap is held by an engine mounting bolt and the lower tabs connect to the frame tubes using the hardware.. Just a guess though...
 
I like mine for the ability to change my leg position, I get cramped up on the occasional longer ride,

Here you go: get some U-bolts from the hardware store, and you may need to remove the exhaust pipe it seems like the stock pipes had more room.

Thank you to everyone for the advice. I know engine guards are not for eveyone. The guard on my Triumph saved her from extensive damage when I dropped her. They are worth the investment IMO.
 
Here is my engine guard installed. I could not resist showing off my custom forged knife/adjustable wrench also.
