There should be two terminals on your master cylinder. One connects to the brake light, one connects to the brake light and the battery. When you squeeze your master cylinder the terminals complete the circuit and light up your brake light.

If you look at most any wiring diagram it will show the brake switches. Power goes to the brake switches on a brown wire, from the brake switches to the brake light on a yellow wire.
Easy to wire up. As mentioned the front switch is often on the master cylinder, but one terminal goes to the battery and the other to the brake light.

I have drum brake on front but there's a brake light switch on my front brake lever so I run a wire from brake switch to battery and the other wire to the tail light from brake switch ?

OK you are not really giving enough info but here is how front and rear switches work.
FRONT..... 2 wires one wire gets power from source 12 volts and other wire goes to rear brake light
REAR..... 2 wires one wire gets power from source 12 volts and other wire goes to rear brake light.
Now what I do is run your two wires one from light and hook the other to a 12 volt source then tie both wires from each switch to brake light wire NEXT take the two remaining wires and tie them to the wire that has 12 volts ...Both now are connected if done right both switches will light up brake light.
Have fun

if its a drum front, he has four wires tied together into two pairs, this is assuming its a untouched 71. But, with custom re-wire, who knows?

im here in the US. ive never had a bike that the front brake light worked on. they rarely ask for the front braKe light here during inspection. when they do i make sure im sitting on the bike with the rear brake pedal almost pushed down to where it trips the light.

then as they are looking and i squeeze the front brake, i tip my toe down and trigger the rear brake switch. its always worked and if its against the law i could care less.im a damm outlaw anyway.
