Evening boys. Hey did a quick search on this and all I can figure this red dust is, is rust dust? Has been slowly coating the inner sprocket area and swing arm as well as chain for about 2 months now. Removed the side cover and only area I can think its coming from is the breather tube I extended to throw any excess oil onto the chain. You can see it in pic. Any thoughts? Thanks

Yeah I just did a google search and it looks like its oxide from not enough lubrication. Prob remove and clean...is kerosene ok to use for cleaning and lithium grease spray for lubing? Thanks!

The best thing to use is an actual chain lube. There are tons of them out there. Any cycle shop should have several different brands. My favorite is Kal-Gard Chain Kote.

IMHO install a new chain, I don't like the odds of an internally rusted chain getting "cured" with lubricants. Been there, pitched that. I can be so punny.
