What is the average age of this group ?

40 years, since I first rode an XS650! I've aged 5 years since I started posting here and had been on the XS garage for a bit before that. Went rock climbing Wednesday and when I mentioned it was my "milestone" birthday my neighbor looked at me thoughtfully for a moment and said 70? Fluck me!

Happy belated birthday........Wednesday was mine as well...............

Tax day----Anniversary of Titanic sinking and Lincolns assassination

Careful with that rock climbing, you might break a hip.

got you by a year, but I don't remember 1973-1975 so maybe they don't count

Here's to a good year

43.... At work, Im realizing all the new guys are the age of someone that is the same age as one would be if the mrs. and I had a kid when we started dating in 1991.
No kids though, so that helps.

39 years old. I've been riding about 12 years. I'm on my second XS650 right now. The first was a 76' in near perfect condition. Sold it as it was nearly too nice to tinker with. Bought a 77' and have been tinkering away. After reading some of the great engine build threads on this forum, I've now bought a spare engine and am putting parts together for my first engine build. First post! Thanks for a great forum

51, been riding since 1980. Worked in a bike shop from 85-94.
Bikeless from 2005 to 2013.
Happy to be BACK at it!

Now, excuse me while I potter off to go change the fork springs and oil....

Postscript: I had forgotten how far fork oil can shoot when you apply the brakes!

now, where's that kitty litter....

26, been riding dirt since I was 7, street for the past 7 years.

And I'll be riding until they scoop me off the road and find me a coffin

56 here, been riding since I was 6. Dirt of course. First street bike was a 75 CB500T. Bought my first 650 in 79 a new special. Riding is my therapy!!! Always remember, you never see a motorcycle in a psychiatrist parking lot.

53 been riding since I was a kid, I got my xs last year, riding it but it needs some loving, I see my first one in 72 along with a Kawasaki Z1 the older boys at school had them, I promised myself I would own one of each of these bikes, got the Kawasaki 11 years ago and loved it the xs I waited longer for as over here most have been chopped up and I wanted one that had not been, only to find that my imported one has been subject to some really poor maintenance by someone whose only tools must have been a welder a pair of snips and a large selection of hammers, still slowly getting there, it puts a grin on my face when I ride though.

Keep at it, they're bloody good when they're going. Mine had suffered from a couple of careless POs but prior to them at least one PO had spent a lot of time and money on the bike and it still showed.

I'm 19. Restored my first bike, a 1975 xs at 18 and now I just bought a 1981 special II. Keeping the old culture alive in the younger generation.
