XS650 Addict
Hey folks,
Welp, I've been away from the online XS650 community for a while -- geez, over a year, I guess -- and I come to find that 650 Rider has been folded into XS650.com. Oh well, the only thing that stays the same is change, I suppose . . .
Don't have much to contribute or comment upon at this time. I've been battling health issues and haven't had any spare funds to speak of to spend on my motorcyclical habits, although I did manage to scrape up enough funds to get my BMW R90/6 back on the road after my car died. The '81 XS sits, waiting for a new battery, rear tire and current tags. It was a matter of practicality that led me to getting the old Beemer running first -- it has hard bags and will loaf comfortably on the freeway, whereas the XS is a bit challenged in those areas.
I have an XS cafe project that's also been waiting for me to get back to it. It's a '78 that the previous owner had hacked up some, but I was abe to undo at least some of his "work." Back when I had a bit more money to spend, I bought a set of roundslide Mikunis and a 750 kit for it -- not the new one that MikesXS sells, just sleeves and pistons. Also have the requisite cafe seat and a tank off an XS750. Dunno when I'll be able to get back to completing the project, hopefully soon. I was originally planning the motor to be a 277degree rephase, but at this point, I'd rather just get it back together than have to deal with all the stuff associated with a rephased motor.
Anyway, nice to be back. See you on the boards.
